Easter – what did it mean to you?

What did you think about at Easter? Chocolate? Buns? Or did you think about Jesus? The Easter service at the Dandenong Bible Education Centre focussed on a few of the “greatest” things in the Bible. You see, when Adam and Eve sinned (the greatest fall) they were separated from God. However Jesus has won the greatest victory over sin, giving us the greatest hope of life for ever. The greatest war was in Jesus’ mind – he had to overcome temptation, which he did. Now those who wish to follow Jesus must fight that fight in their minds – to overcome the natural wrong desires and temptations. Because Jesus overcame sin, we can too. He is waiting to help each one of us.

How big do you feel?

Doesn’t earth look big... ...until it’s next to the larger planets!
Don’t the large planets look small next to the sun... ...but isn’t the sun tiny compared with Arcturus!

But wait ... Arcturus is really very small compared with Antares (at present believed to be the fifteenth brightest star) This is a Hubble Telescope ultra deep field infrared view of countless “entire” galaxies billions of light-years away.

Does this make you feel humble?

People keep making larger telescopes – the bigger they are the more galaxies scientists can see. Our God is a great God! He made this absolutely enormous universe and we are mere specks, and yet he cares for us. He even knows how many hairs are on your head (see Matthew 10:29-31). Does this make you feel humble? How big are you? How big is your God?

God is God and we are wee!
