What a horrifying time Victoria has had in past weeks with the terrible bushfires, and the loss of so many lives, and so much property. Our thoughts and prayers have been with those who have been affected. None of us knows what is coming in our lives, but it is important to be prepared. Now is the time to turn to God if you haven’t already. He can comfort you and guide your life. The only way of hope is through the one who created the universe and all that is in it. That is the only true God of the Bible. Many people blame God when things go wrong, but really he is the one to turn to at these times. He is a compassionate and loving God, who cares for you.
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”1 Peter 5:6-7

Have you thought about what Jesus Christ did for humans when he died on the cross? Have you wondered why God’s son had to suffer so much? Have you considered the significance of the resurrection of Jesus? Did you know that the answers to these questions are important for you to know? The most well known verse in the Bible is John 3:16:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
Come to our Good Friday Easter service to learn more. Why perish when you can have eternal life?
April 10, 10am. Good Friday Service
Take a walk near the Dandenong railway station and you will know that things are changing. Buildings have been knocked down and plans are underway for redevelopment. The Dandenong Bible Education Centre will need to move in the coming months to make way for further development by VicUrban. Watch future newsletters and our shop window for information about a new location.
Our advanced Bible class meets every second Wednesday at the Bible Education Centre. This class is intended for people who have been reading the Bible for at least 2 or 3 years, and so have some familiarity with the different parts of the Bible.
However, few people are familiar with the remarkable night of 15 February 519 BC when the prophet Zechariah had eight extraordinary visions. Recently, we had five classes looking at these visions which are described in Zechariah chapters 1-6. The visions included multi-coloured horses, a lampstand fuelled by two olive trees, a giant flying scroll, and a wicked woman in a basket being taken to Babylon!
The visions contained a contemporary message about rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem with God’s help. But they also contain a message for us! They describe the time when Jerusalem will be the centre of worship for all nations, and Jesus will be king there.

In Zechariah 2:10–13 we read:
The LORD says, “Shout and rejoice, O Jerusalem, for I am coming to live among you. Many nations will join themselves to the LORD on that day, and they, too, will be my people. I will live among you, and you will know that the LORD Almighty sent me to you. The land of Judah will be the LORD’s inheritance in the holy land, and he will once again choose Jerusalem to be his own city. Be silent before the LORD, all humanity, for he is springing into action from his holy dwelling.”
