Rejoicing at a new life!
There was much rejoicing at the Dandenong Bible Education Centre on Wednesday 22nd April, when Treva was baptized. He first confessed in public his faith in God and what he believes about Jesus and about God’s coming kingdom. He was then baptized by complete immersion in water. Now Treva can begin a new life - one that is more fulfilling now, but which also holds the hope of eternal life when Jesus returns. The angels in heaven rejoiced with us on this happy evening (Luke 15:10).
Imagine
Imagine a life lived completely for others
Devoted to God... and to sisters and brothers.
Imagine a life where you really don’t figure
Because the greater good... God’s wishes, are bigger.
Imagine a life lived in the knowledge of death
When every action, when every breath
All lead to a moment when anguish and pain
Will test your absolute limits; challenge all that is sane.
Our Lord lived that life, lived it completely for others.
He gave it to God, and to his sisters and brothers.
He put himself down, so that others could rise
So they could share in God’s glory, could take hold of the prize.
Imagine our lives if we lived just like he did
Always doing what God wanted, instead of what we did.
We might not be perfect, our weakness might show
But if our hearts were faithful, at least God would know.
So let’s stop just imagining, and make God our life!
Sure, we might live in a world torn by sadness and strife
But the future is glorious! and faith is the clue
Coz through our risen saviour, we can share in it too.
