These are courses currently being run at the Dandenong Bible Education Centre.
“Walk in” correspondence course – or by mail
Now two correspondence courses are available for those who can’t attend regular classes. “God’s Master Plan”, an 8 lesson course, is an introduction to the good news of God’s Master Plan. It explores the faith and obedience that God requires from those wanting to share in his wonderful plan for the earth. “Learning about your Bible” has 14 lessons which help you understand the Bible and God’s offer of salvation to you. Exploring the Bible is an exciting adventure – these courses assist!
These correspondence courses can be done by mail, but help is also available for you from the shop staff between 10am and 2pm Monday to Friday. We recommend you come in and have your answers marked on the spot so that you can discuss anything you do not understand. You can have all the advantages of a correspondence course and a personal tutor!
Growing Kids God’s Way is a course developed by Gary and Anne Marie Ezzo, emphasising our need to pass on the ways of God to our growing children. Although not intended to give all the answers about bringing up children, the course does aim to help parents understand how they can reach the hearts of their young children and make the teenage years a time to look forward to, not to fear.
These sessions target busy parents who want to learn more about bringing up their children, but find it hard to squeeze the time from their busy life. Packed into a short 1 hour (plus homework time), the classes will start and end punctually. Child care can be provided — please request it when registering. Registration is essential since places are limited. Workbooks must be purchased ($38) for each individual and we recommend that both parents attend if at all possible.
In this term, the course is made up of 9 sessions:
We plan to present the remaining 8 sessions in Term 3.
Level: All Levels
Starting time is 5:00pm sharp and sessions will last for no more than one hour.
Child-minding provided if required
What were they like? They lived a long time ago, but were they very different from us? Find out about some of them in these two sessions.
April 20 – Deborah and Barak
May 4 – The Jailer of Philippi
Level: Intermediate – for those familiar with their Bible
Many Bible readers have difficulty fitting everything together. Did Moses or David come first? What was the “captivity” all about? When did Jesus say he would return to earth? Sometimes it can be confusing trying to piece it all together.
This course is for people who have begun to read their Bibles, and are trying to fit the major people and events into the overall Bible story. When you understand the historical and geographical context of Bible events, they become more powerful and more meaningful to us today. The Bible message is heard more loudly and clearly if we understand the overall story of the Bible.
Level: A good first course – Beginners to Intermediate
This course is also available on Tuesday nights.
