We've had to move out of our old shop at 46 Walker Street which is being demolished soon, as part of the Revitalising Central Dandenong project. We've got our new shop location, and have now opened!
Our new address is 118-120 Foster Street, Dandenong (to help you verify which one's our new shop, when I wrote this, the Google street view mode had a picture of a DHS shop with "rent try buy" as a banner: that's our shop, now it features Dandenong Bible Education Centre signage).
In today’s exhortation, Nathan Islip covered, as his topic, living with uncertainty, and how faith is the way to overcome any uncertainty. As usual, the exhortation is available on our website; click here to listen to it, or just play it with the widget below.
In his conclusion, he outlined four particular verses which can be used as encouragement and as a base for our faith when we are uncertain about anything. These are very good verses; here they are:
He has showed you, O man, what is good. What does the LORD require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.Micah 6:8
And now all has been heard. Here is the conclusion of the matter: fear God and keep his commandments. This is the whole duty of man.Ecclesiastes 12:13
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.1 Corinthians 13:13
My command is this: love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.John 15:12-13
I hope that these are useful to you as you go through your life.
As reading his Bible, my father noticed another interesting name of God, in Exodus 17:15-16:
And Moses built an altar and called the name of it, The LORD is my banner, saying, "A hand upon the throne of the LORD! The LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation."
Another name of God - "My banner".
